Moko Sacco Society Ltd
Moko Sacco is a savings and credit co-operative society which was founded in 2000.
Its motto is ‘The SACCO of choice’.
There are three categories of members, individuals (582 individual members), women’s groups
(32 group members, typically with about 35 individual members) and employees of the co-operative.
Moko Sacco has a number of different loan programmes. PCAT has provided loan funds for women’s groups
for income generating projects and for individuals for the purchase of domestic water tanks, solar lamps
and energy saving jikos (charcoal stoves). PCAT’s loan funds are provided at a low rate of interest.
Loan repayments and interest payments are then recycled to provide further loan finance.
